Escrow / Séquestre
A transaction where the buyer’s payment is held by DHMAD until agreed delivery conditions are met. Funds are then released to the seller, or returned to the buyer if the deal fails under platform rules. In French, this model is often called séquestre. See What is escrow for a fuller explanation.
What is escrow
KYC (Know Your Customer)
Identity verification required for higher-risk actions such as large withdrawals. KYC helps prevent fraud and meet compliance obligations. See the KYC policy and KYC requirements guide for when checks apply.
Dispute
A moderated process opened when buyer and seller disagree (for example incomplete delivery). Funds stay protected while evidence is reviewed and DHMAD applies the dispute policy to decide the outcome.
Payout
Moving available wallet balance to a linked bank account or mobile-money method after an escrow release (minus applicable platform fees and taxes). Payouts may require completed KYC.
Wallet
Your DHMAD balance: money from released escrows, refunds, a returned withdrawal, the remainder of a payment or a promotional credit. DHMAD does not keep money for you: you only add money to pay a specific escrow, checkout or payment link, so withdraw your balance to your bank or mobile-money account. Track ledger activity in the dashboard.
Checkout session
A hosted payment or action link (often created via the API) that lets a party accept, pay, or complete a specific escrow step without building a custom payment UI. Sessions expire and are scoped to one escrow action.
